In this article, I am going to share with you 8 sales funnels templates you can download and start customizing today. But before, let’s make a review of what a sales funnel is, its stages and how to optimize yours for higher conversions and profits.
1. What is a sales funnel?
In marketing, a sales funnel is the name used to describe the process a customer follows since they are a prospect coming in contact with your brand for the first time until they purchase from you and become loyal customers.
This process happens organically in every business whether it’s being controlled or not.
However, a well designed and optimized funnel helps to turn cold prospects into long-term customers, increasing sales, profits and creating returning buyers with life-time value.
The “funnel” metaphor means there is a large audience of potential buyers ‘at the top’ that will eventually be reduced to a smaller group of highly-targeted, high-value customers. By breaking the buyer’s journey down into stages, you have more control over how and when you present offers.
Inside a funnel, every offer is actually a series of offers designed to increase purchase size as well as drive subsequent purchases. By offering products that increase progressively in price and value, you are able to generate trust, eliminate barriers, and increase the number of customers you end up generating.

2. What are the stages of a sales funnel?
To understand the stages of a sales funnel it is important to mention that they are directly related to the A.I.D.A. model of Awareness, Interest, Desire, and Action.
The model uses the following stages to successfully guide potential customers from initial attraction to action.
1. Awareness
It is the first stage of the sales funnel where the prospect becomes aware of their problems and learns about your product or service as a possible way to deal with it.
This could happen when they first read a post in your blog, saw your ad or visit your website for the first time.
2. Interest
At this stage, the prospect is actively looking for solutions to their problems. He starts considering your offer, consumes your content and subscribes to your list.
3. Desire/ Decision:
At this stage, the prospect is coming around to the idea of making a purchase to solve his problem. At this point, offers are made by using sales pages, webinars, calls, etc. You want to include different packages and options, so he can make the final decision to purchase.
4. Action
The final stage of the sales funnel has prospects clicking on the purchase button. This is your chance to reinforce the value of your offer — as well as the downsides of not taking it.
3. So, how does this translate to an actual funnel?
Russell Brunson, creator of Clickfunnels, suggests a model for an online sales funnels similar to the A.I.D.A steps but where the customer engages in —smaller to bigger—transactions throughout the whole process.
This is the model most marketers use when building a sales funnel and is the one you’ll see in the examples you will find in this article. It has the following stages:
Pre-Stage: Define your offer
Before you start creating your funnel, you want to design the entire ‘flow’ your customer will follow as they move through your funnel.
You also want to determine how you’ll connect each subsequent offer within your funnel. The idea is to use your lower-tiered offers to prepare customers to get full use out of the next product or service.
I like to use Funnelytics to map out my funnels’ sequence but you can also do it with pen and paper.
Stage 1. Traffic
In this stage, you’ll want to consider where your prospects naturally ‘hangs’ and create the best content and ad campaigns to drive them to your funnel
You want to be intentional about who you bring into your funnel since low-quality traffic will have you spending time and money in prospects that will never convert into buyers.
Stage 2. Bait
Also called a ‘freebie’ or lead magnet, a Bait is something you offer either for free or at a very low cost to get the prospect ‘inside your funnel’
It can mean you won’t make a profit on the sale but will turn profitable as they continue through your funnel.
Those who don’t take you up on your bait offer will be left out of your funnel but is they were not interested in your low-risk offer likely won’t be looking to purchase your big-ticket items.
Stage 3. Front End Offer
This is your low-price low-risk offer that helps your new customers solve surface-level issues with minimal investment.
Once they have taken you up on your bait offer, you’ll want to send them directly to a landing page with your “leveled” premium offer just so they know you have a more complete solution for them. You should also follow up with your email campaign to keep them engaged.
Stage 4. Middle Offer
After your prospect just took you on your first offer, it is the best moment to present an irresistible offer that will solve a specific problem and prepares them for the step on the funnel.
It can be in the form of an ‘upsell’ such as sale price on bulk orders, custom variations, extended subscription times, etc. Or ‘downsells’ like payment plans, cheaper versions or discounted trials.
Stage 5. Backend Offer
This is your most valuable and costly offer that will solve your customers’ biggest problem. At this point, your audience has gotten a taste of your lower-end offers and is more likely to engage with your highest-value offer.
There’s no guarantee that they will move onto the next stage but is on to you to convince them. If you have proven that your main concern is on providing value they’ll be more likely to trust your more expensive offer is worth it.

In this template, the landing page is really simple and makes it as easy as possible for people to opt-in. In fact, you probably could get away with asking for the email only. Don’t ask for unnecessary information since prospects can be put off by a long opt-in form.

This e-commerce sales funnel template has been used to sells tens of thousands of physical products across different niches. It works for any kind of offer whether you are selling at full retail price, promoting bundles/discount deals or running a free plus shipping campaign.
It includes a landing opt-in page, an order form, three upsells and a confirmation page.
The landing page collects users’ email addresses before they can proceed to the order form. This step allows you to build a huge list regardless of whether people end up buying or not.
The order form page has been heavily tested converting up to 40% in some markets. It is recommended to always offer multiple quantities, with discounted pricing. This increases the average order value of any e-commerce funnel allowing you to spend more per customer on ads and scale your campaigns aggressively.
For the upsells, always offer people more of what they just bought or a complimentary product. One-click purchasing means the conversion rates can be amazing if the product is appealing.
Finally, on the confirmation page, the template includes a summary of what the customer has purchased throughout all the funnel. Use this page to also set expectations around delivery times and customer service.

In that sense, this funnel helps to showcase your work, testimonials, and experience to get people interested enough to engage with you but it will be equally important to nurture the leads with a strong email campaign and social media presence.
Besides the landing page, this template includes five pages for programs/course, ‘clients love’ (testimonials), 1:1 coaching and contact.
There is an opt-in form in all of them which redirects to a thank you page where you can offer one of your entry-level packages and tell them what can they expect from you moving forward. This is a great place to invite them to follow you on social media, join your Facebook group. etc.

5. You have your funnel template… now what?
Your funnel won’t magically bring customers to the door, you actually need to implement one or more traffic strategies to attract visitors. Here are some you can start implementing:
Social Media Traffic:
Billions of people all over the world use social networks to engage with brands and discover new products and services when using social media. Therefore, if you are not already taking advantage of social media, you are missing out on the most effective way of reaching out to your audience.
You can start bringing prospects to your funnel by promoting a free lead magnet on your social media pages, creating a Facebook group or engaging in related forums. This is a great strategy for growing your traffic and email list.
SEO Traffic
SEO helps to increase traffic and visibility for your website in search engines.
By using blog posts to attract visitors and include an opt-in form is a useful tool for capturing the attention of prospective customers and get them inside your funnel.
YouTube Traffic
YouTube is the second largest search engine across the globe and a great way of driving free organic traffic to your site.
To gain exposure and momentum, you need to create valuable tutorials and videos that add immense value to your target audience. If they like what you offer and trust you can help them, they’ll be eager to learn where they can find out about your services.
Paid ads Traffic
If you have a budget to invest with, paid advertising is a great way to speed things up and drive traffic to your sales funnel.
Mastering either organic or paid traffic is a whole other subject to touch on. My recommendation is to focus on one traffic source and do not change it until you have dominated it.
